This is my art journal documenting my progress as I attempt to develop my style and practice drawing different... uh... things.    Enjoy?

I’ve been listening to too many comic related podcasts, apparently. Immediately (read: two months later) following up my Spiderman post comes a Harley Quinn drawing. I thought it would be fun to try my hand at a painted comic look, like Alex Ross and others have done. I don’t understand lighting well enough to get the same results that those guys do, but I think this is one of my better pieces.

The pose was meant to imply that she’s off-balance, both in a physical sense (that she’s goofing off) and also in the mental sense. No idea if that’s conveyed well or if the pose just looks weird. =P

Since I spent so much time on it, here’s a closeup of the face:

  1. Face looks like your wife. Deliberate?

  2. Wow, do I ever not see that. =P

  3. Looking god, sir!

  4. They both have two eyes, a nose, lips, and boobies. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!

Also, just so it’s out here and public, this is an awesome pic. Because I know your artwork needs my public stamp of approval.
