I think I finally have the new look for Jacob hashed out. I’m trying to create a slightly different look to all of my Chipmunk Bay characters so that they’re more instantly recognizably different from one another than they currently are. I decided to make Jacob’s face a more rectangular than it was before, and elongate it somewhat. I’m still not sure I REALLY want to go through with the design change, but I think it’ll help my art grow if I force the change. Hopefully readers will embrace the change.
For comparison, here’s ‘vintage’ Jacob:

Because a friend of mine was asking for it. Apparently his greatest fear would be 3 floating nuns. When prodded, it was uncovered that if the nuns were babies it would be even creepier.

I liked the picture I did of myself for the About page, so I thought I’d try again, this time with my wife. The style of the two drawings are quite different. This turned out pretty good, but it’s certainly not the style I was going for, so I have mixed feelings about it. I think it’s time I start working on the cartoon stuff again. My hand hurts after this. This took a little over 7 hours.
I also did a stage by stage flash slideshow of my progress. So you can see for yourself why it took 7 hours (this is a big slideshow… about 1 mb, so bear with it while it loads).
